Stencil Details
The small Rough Blazing Star (Liatris aspera) is designed to be a part of a frieze with the other flowers in this series and has two extra diamonds on either side to help you align it with the next flower in the pattern (trace them in pencil and then use that to line up the next stencil). It also makes a great standalone design on an accent pillow, a table runner, or roller shades. Use your imagination and creativity!
This stencil is cut from 7.5 mil (small) or 10 mil (large) Mylar which is thick enough for many many re-uses, but not so thick that the delicate design is difficult to stencil. I recommend using a stenciling brush to get into all the fine details. Stencil with acrylic paint, latex paint, stencil creams, fabric paint, or glaze. You can use spray adhesive, but I recommend just using blue painters tape to hold the stencil in place and a dry brush to keep paint from bleeding at the edges.
